One of my favorite breakfasts and post-workout snack at the moment is this smoothie. It is easy to make, easy to drink, and tastes like a smoothie you’d get at a smoothie shop. I like to get my smoothie staples like protein powder on Vitacost because I can search for really specific items like vegan protein powder for athletes. Each item can be found linked within the recipe!
I get lots of questions on what kind of vegan protein powder I like to use. I rotate them in and out, but right now I’m liking the Sunwarrior Warrior blend in chocolate flavor. It’s great in this smoothie, and is also good with just water or almond milk. It’s hard to come by a protein powder that is affordable, not cakey, and doesn’t taste overwhelmingly like it’s protein powder!
For a quadruple threat banana/berry/chocolate/PB flavor, use peanut butter. To up your intake of omega 3 and omega 6 fats, fiber, and protein, add in chia, hemp, or flax seeds. I wouldn’t recommend adding in PB and seeds because that is just a lot of fat for one smoothie.
